The relationship between Ace and Ginger becomes so diminished that Ace gives her all her money and tells her to leave. The Feds make their move. They arrest all the bosses, Nicky's crew and raid the Gold Rush. Artie Piscano has a heart attack when the Feds search his house. The bosses order all the men involved with the casino scam (Andy Stone, John Nance etc.), murdered. Ginger gets involved with some lowlifes and has an overdose and dies. Ace survived the car bombing at the beginning because of a secret metal plate under the driver's seat. Nicky was the one who planted the bomb. Both Nicky and his brother Dominic, are taken out into a cornfield by Frankie and Remo Gaggi's boys, beaten with baseball bats and buried while they were still breathing. All of the major casinos and condemned. Ace goes back to being a bookie and making money for people back home. And that's that.

Revealing mistake: When Sharon Stone gets thrown out of Joe Pesci's club, you can clearly see the pads on Stone's hand's to break the impact of the fall.

The 'head in a vise' scene is taken from an anecdote in the book 'Casino' unrelated to the main story, describing mob enforcer Tony Spilotro's interrogation of a low-level gangster named Billy McCarthy, who had committed the unauthorized murder on the Scalvo brothers, a pair of high-ranking mobsters within Spilotro's crime organization. Trying to get McCarthy to give up the identity of the man who helped him. Movies@ Montecasino offers an unparalleled entertainment and cinema experience in Johannesburg. Trivia: Robert DeNiro was so adamant about portraying the character he was playing, that he had his suits that he had worn in the movie made by the same tailors who had made Frank Rosenthal's suits

Question: Sam and Nicky both refer to 'back home' but they do not explain where it is . I thought it was Kansas City because that is where the bosses are, but it's revealed that they are only there because 'its as close as they could get to Vegas without being arrested'. Does anyone know where in America Sam and Nicky are originally from?

Answer:Frank Rosenthal (the basis for Sam Rothstein) and Tony Spilotro (the basis for Nicky Santoro) were both from Chicago, so that is likely 'back home'.

Plot – Sam 'Ace' Rothstein has moved too quickly in the ranks of the Mafia because of his incredible intuition. In 1973 he’s at the head of four casinos in Las Vegas, completely legal if it wasn’t for the part of income that regularly goes into the 'godfathers' pockets, not talking about the fact that Ace doesn't have the license for the activity. Business is going very well and Sam now rules an empire, but he makes two mistakes. First, he decide to marry Ginger, a beautiful unscrupulous player addicted to alcohol, drugs and in love with another man. Secondly, he allows his old friend Nicky, an hysterical killer, to operate in the casino. The dangerous triangle brings to self-destruction.

  • “Now you're insulting my intelligence; what you think I am, a fuckin' idiot? You know goddamn well that someone had to get into those machines and set those fuckin' reels. The probability of one four-reel machine is a million and a half to one; the probability of three machines in a row; it's in the billions! It cannot happen, would not happen,...” (continue)(continue reading)Robert De Niro - Sam 'Ace' Rothstein
  • “It should have been perfect. I mean he had me, Nicky Santoro, his best friend watching his ass. And he had Ginger, the woman he loved on his arm. But in the end, we fucked it all up. It should have been so sweet, too. But it turned out to be the last time that street guys like us were ever given anything that fuckin' valuable again.”Joe Pesci - Nicky Santoro
  • “No matter how big a guy might be, Nicky would take him on. You beat Nicky with fists, he comes back with a bat. You beat him with a knife, he comes back with a gun. And if you beat him with a gun, you better kill him, because he'll keep comin' back and back until one of you is dead.”

The casino manager is watching the shift...” (continue)(continue reading)
